LED Scroller - LED Banner Privacy Policy
Lin Office Tools ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the LED Scroller - LED Banner mobile application (package name: com.lin.ledbanner.ledscroller, the "App").
The App lets you create and display scrolling LED-style banners using text, an optional image or GIF, and optional local audio. Banner content is processed locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. The App does not require an account. It uses Google services for advertising, consent management, analytics, and crash reporting as described below.
1. Information the App Processes
The App processes information needed to provide the features you choose to use. Banner content remains on your device except for Android system backup described below. Google advertising, analytics, consent, and crash-reporting services may process technical and usage information separately as described in Section 1.5.
1.1 Banner Text and Display Settings
When you create a banner, the App stores the text you enter and your selected display settings in the App's private storage. These settings may include:
- Banner text and the position of an inserted image;
- Scroll direction, speed, blinking, and blink frequency;
- Font family, font size, bold setting, text color, and background color;
- LED particle effect, image size, screen-awake preference, and audio playback preference;
- The App language you select on Android versions where the App manages this preference locally.
This information is used only to render the banner and restore your settings the next time you open the App.
1.2 Images You Select
If you choose to insert an image, the App opens Android's system content picker. The App can access only the image you select through the access granted by Android. It may process the following information locally:
- The image content, file size, format, pixel dimensions, and orientation metadata;
- A normalized JPEG or PNG copy created in the App's private storage for banner display;
- The private local path needed to restore the selected image in the App.
The App accepts supported JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF images, checks them against size and dimension limits, applies image orientation where applicable, and scales large images to a suitable output size. Animated GIFs can be played in the banner. This processing occurs on your device. The image is not uploaded to us.
When you remove or replace an imported image, the App deletes the corresponding managed copy when possible. App-private image files are also generally removed when you clear App data or uninstall the App, subject to Android system backup and restore behavior.
1.3 Audio You Select
If you choose audio, the App opens Android's system document picker. The App stores the content URI and may read the display name of the audio file. It requests persistent read access from Android so the selected audio can be played again in future sessions.
Audio is played locally using Android media components. The App does not copy or upload the selected audio file to our servers. If the file is moved, deleted, or its access is revoked, playback may no longer work.
Removing audio in the App removes the saved reference from the banner configuration. Android may retain the document access grant until App data is cleared, the App is uninstalled, or the system revokes the grant.
1.4 App Language
On supported Android versions, your selected App language is stored and managed by Android's per-app language service. On older Android versions, the preference is stored in the App's private local preferences. We do not receive this information.
1.5 Advertising, Consent, Analytics, and Crash Information
The App uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display app-open advertisements. Depending on your region, device settings, consent choices, and Google's configuration, Google may process information such as:
- Advertising identifiers, IP address, device and app information, approximate location inferred from IP address, and ad interaction or delivery data;
- Consent choices and privacy signals handled through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP);
- App usage events and technical information through Firebase Analytics;
- Crash reports, stack traces, device state, app version, and diagnostic information through Firebase Crashlytics.
This information is processed by Google under its applicable terms and privacy practices. We use it to deliver and measure ads, comply with consent requirements, understand general App usage, diagnose crashes, and improve reliability. We do not send your banner text, selected images, GIFs, or audio files to these services as event content.
Where required, the App asks for consent before requesting ads. You can revisit applicable choices through Privacy options in Settings when that option is required and made available by Google. Device-level advertising and privacy controls may also be available in Android settings.
1.6 Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
The current version of the App:
- Does not create user accounts or collect names, phone numbers, postal addresses, or account credentials;
- Does not request precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, or call-log permissions;
- Does not send banner text, selected images, GIFs, or audio files to our servers or include them in analytics events;
- Does not sell personal information.
2. Permissions and System Access
| Access | Purpose | Your Control |
|---|---|---|
| Internet and network state | Load and display advertisements, obtain and honor consent choices, and send analytics and crash diagnostics through Google services. | Consent choices are presented where required. You may also use Android privacy and advertising controls or stop network access at the device level. |
| System image picker access | Read the specific image you select and create a local banner copy. | You choose whether to open the picker and which image to provide. |
| System document picker access | Read and locally play the specific audio file you select. The App may request a persistent URI read grant. | You choose whether to open the picker and which audio file to provide. You may clear App data or uninstall the App to remove App-held grants. |
| Keep screen awake | Prevent the display from sleeping during full-screen banner playback when you enable this setting. | You can turn this setting on or off in the App. |
No broad storage permission: the App does not request All Files Access or general photo/media library permission. It relies on Android's system pickers and scoped access to the items you select.
3. Local Storage and Android Backup
The App stores banner settings, language preferences on older Android versions, managed image copies, and selected audio references in its private application storage.
Android may include some App-private data in an automatic device or account backup if backup is enabled in the App and in your system settings. Such backup and restore processing is controlled by Android, your device manufacturer, and your selected backup provider, not by our servers. You can manage device backup in Android settings.
Clearing App data or uninstalling the App generally removes local App data from the device. Backup copies may remain according to your backup provider's retention rules and may be restored by Android.
4. Third-Party Components and External Services
The App uses Android libraries including AndroidX Jetpack, Jetpack Compose, DataStore, Media3, Kotlin Coroutines, and related support components. They provide the user interface, local preference storage, lifecycle handling, and local audio playback.
The App also uses Google Mobile Ads, Google User Messaging Platform, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics. For more information about how Google processes data, see Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
The system image picker, system document picker, Android per-app language settings, Android backup, and the external browser are platform or external services. Information they process is governed by your device settings and the privacy policies of the applicable platform, device manufacturer, backup provider, file provider, or browser.
5. How We Share, Transfer, or Disclose Information
We do not sell or rent your banner content or personal information. We use Google as a service provider for advertising, consent management, analytics, and crash reporting. Google may process the technical, usage, consent, and advertising information described in this policy.
Information may leave the App only in the following user-controlled or system-controlled circumstances:
- You choose an image or audio document through an Android system picker;
- Android performs device backup or restore according to your system and account settings;
- You open the Privacy Policy in an external browser;
- Google services process advertising, consent, analytics, or crash information as described above;
- Disclosure is required by applicable law or a valid legal process. Since we do not receive your local App content, we generally do not possess that content to disclose.
6. Retention
Banner settings and other local preferences remain on your device until they are replaced, removed through available App controls, cleared through Android settings, or deleted when the App is uninstalled. Managed image copies remain until you remove or replace them, clear App data, or uninstall the App, subject to normal system behavior and backups.
We do not maintain a server-side retention period for banner content because the App does not transmit that content to our servers. Information processed by Google is retained according to Google's settings, policies, legal obligations, and the controls available to us or to you.
7. Security
The App uses Android's application sandbox and system content access mechanisms to limit access to App-private files and user-selected content. The App does not permit cleartext network traffic; network communication with Google services and the policy website uses encrypted HTTPS connections where supported.
No storage method or device environment is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, system account, selected files, and device backups. Avoid displaying sensitive or confidential content in public locations where other people may see your screen.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You control the content processed by the App. Depending on your device and applicable law, you may:
- Edit or clear banner text and change display settings in the App;
- Remove an imported image or selected audio reference using the App controls;
- Delete or move source image and audio files using their original storage provider;
- Clear App storage or uninstall the App to remove local App data and App-held document access grants;
- Manage the App language, device backup, and related system settings through Android;
- Review applicable ad consent choices through Privacy options in the App when Google requires that entry;
- Contact us to ask questions or submit a privacy complaint.
Because we do not maintain user accounts or receive your local banner content, we generally cannot access, identify, retrieve, correct, or delete content stored only on your device. Those actions must be performed on the device. Requests concerning data independently processed by Google may also need to be directed to Google or handled through Google and Android privacy controls.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect children's banner content through our servers. Google services may process technical information as described above. Children should use the App only under the guidance and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us outside the App, please contact us so we can review and address the matter.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when App features, data practices, service providers, laws, or operational requirements change. We will publish the updated policy on this webpage or make it available through the App and request consent where required.
11. Scope and External Links
This Privacy Policy applies only to LED Scroller - LED Banner. The App's Settings page contains a link to this policy that is opened by an external browser or compatible app. External apps and websites operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which we recommend you review.
